Emily’s Favorites!

All the ladies who work Upstairs have a great taste; however, each and every one of us has completely different style. After working together for years, we have decided to show you how varied our choices are. Each month, the sales staff Upstairs will feature their favorite items. Keep your eyes peeled for new favorites from Shelley, Seal, Heather, Johanna, Michelle, Emily K., Kristen, Karen and Emily R.

To kick things off I (Emily R.) have decided to offer up the items I loved this month. As the manager, I have the great pleasure of traveling with Shelley on buying trips. We scour high and low to bring you the most unique and exceptional items available and along the way I make my list of the items I can’t live without. Of course it all changes when I get home, but it’s fun to fantasize.

As summer arrives, I have been getting my house ready for company and parties. If you want a lot of bang for your buck, add a few simple things that have “wow” factor. I like to start with a nice candle. My favorite for summer is Roses from Diptyque ($60 and $68 for the special edition pink). Its fresh floral scent smells like you just came home with a dozen roses, plus you get a hint of spice. Burn Roses when guests arrive and they will feel like they are in a French garden.

Being I’m from Wyoming, I love anything western and rustic and have become a huge fan of Jan Barboglio’s cast iron work, especially her heart ($238.00) and horseshoe ($288.00) decanters. Whether it’s for whiskey or wine, these bottles will make any bar look great.

If I am feeling like I need a little inspiration for I immediately turn to my home decor books. Currently I love Living in Argentina from Taschen ($29.95). It has the perfect mix of raw rural and metropolitan chic.

Keep your eyes peeled for more of our favorite things. For more information please contact Upstairs at Pierre Lafond. Open daily from 9am-8pm.
